Lost your dog?
Start here.

It is frightening when a dog goes missing. Take a breath, note the exact time and place they were last seen, then work through these steps as quickly as you can.

Do these now

Report your dog missing

Open each service in turn. Give everyone the same accurate last-seen details.
Check any GPS tracker immediately. Open the tracking app, note the latest location and time, and keep watching for movement while you complete every report below. A tracker can help direct the search, but it does not replace reporting your dog missing.
02

Tell the dog warden

Report your dog missing to Northumberland County Council so Animal Welfare can check whether they have been collected as a stray.

● Keep widening the search

Tell the local network

Contact nearby vets, rescue centres and neighbours. Share a clear poster in local community groups and around the last-seen area. Ask people to report the time, place and direction of any sighting.

Prepare before anything happens

Add another way for a finder to reach you.

A smart QR pet tag can link a finder to contact and care information you choose to share. Crumb says its tag can also alert you when it is scanned. It is an extra safeguard—not a replacement for an up-to-date microchip or the legally required collar tag showing the owner’s name and address.
